MISS RUSSIA IS THE WINNER OF MISS TOURISM QUEEN INTERNATIONAL 2009
23-year-old Ekaterina Grushanina of Russia was crowned Miss Tourism Queen Int’l 2009 tonight, in Zhengzhou, China. She edged out Miss Brazil, Vivian Noronha Cia (1st ru), Miss Guinea, Safia Souare (2nd ru), Miss China (3rd ru), and Miss French Polynesia (4th ru).

In the top 20 were the representatives of Singapore, Montenegro, Turkmenistan, Nigeria, Puerto Rico, New Zealand, France, Canada, Malaysia, Phuket, Poland, Guatemala, Altai, Kyrgyzstan and Romania.

5 CONTINENTAL QUEENS WILL ADVANCE TO THE SEMI-FINALS
The 5 continental queens have been informed today during rehearsals that they have all assured spots among the top 20 semi-finalists. They are Turkmenistan (Asia), Nigeria (Africa), Puerto Rico (Americas), Montenegro (Europe) and New Zealand (Oceania).
Miss Singapore has also advanced to the semi-finals after winning the internet voting.
The other 14 semi-finalists will be announce during tonight’s final event.

5 MISS TQ CONTINENTAL QUEENS WERE ELECTED
For the first time the 5 Miss TQ Continental Queens were elected in a special event, attended by more than 6000 people. A special panel of judges picked their choices for the top three beauties in each continent, and the results are:

MISS DISCO QUEEN - GUINEA
Before a crowd of over 15,000 people, Miss Guinea danced her way through victory and claimed the Miss Disco Queen 2009 sash and crown. Her runner-ups were Misses France (1st runner-up) and India (2nd runner-up).

Other great performancers tonight were the representatives of Serbia, Tartastan, Martinique, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Fernando de Noronha, Russia, Georgia, Guadeloupe, Ghana and Japan.
The event took place in the city of Xinxiang and was telecast live.

MISS BIKINI OF THE WORLD 2009 - MISS BALI
In a magnificent 2-hour live telecast, Miss Bali was crowned Miss Bikini of the World, being considered the candidate with the best figure in this year’s contest. Miss Russia came in 2nd place, while Miss Ukraine was 3rd.
The event was held in Xinyang, Henan.
Miss Bali was very excited and happy to hear her name announced as the winner.
Besides the 3 winners, other standouts of the night were Misses Romania, Altai Republic, Armenia, Canada, French Polynesia, Brazil, Philippines, Phuket, New Zealand, Peru, Slovakia, Sochi, Thailand, Martinique, among others.

SRI LANKA TAKES TALENT
The Talent competition took place on Tuesday night in the city of Luohe, and the winner was Miss Sri Lanka, who delivered a flawless and exciting national dance of her country.
Miss New Zealand and her also great Chicago show, came in 2nd place, followed by Miss Zimbabwe, who danced as well.
Miss Lithuania, however, who sang with absolute perfection, seemed to be the favorite of a few judges. However, the judges were informed by mistake that she had lip-sync, which made them not vote for her.
The unhappy incident caused great discomfort among the Lithuanian delegation, press, and even among contestants, who thought she deserved to win.
“I can sing for you now”, said a very upset Miss Lithuania at the hotel lobby, right after the show. “It’s so unfair, of course I was singing, I can’t believe the judges were told I wasn’t”, she said.
Other great performers of the night were Bali, Fernando de Noronha, Philippines, Tartastan and Nepal.
40 girls participated in last night’s competition.
MISS BRAZIL, Vivian Noronha Cia, IS ELECTED "MISS CHARM"
The city of Zhumadian hosted the Miss Charm preliminary competition for Miss Tourism Queen International 2009. The 100 contestants paraded in swimsuits and evening gowns before the judges reached a decision.
In the end, it was Miss Brazil, Vivian Noronha Cia, who won the crown and the special award: Miss Charm 2009.
Miss Martinique came in 2nd place, followed by Miss Sweden, who was 3rd.
MISS SINGAPORE WINS INTERNET VOTING AND IS MTQI 2009’s 1ST SEMI-FINALIST
Miss Singapore is the winner of the internet voting which took place at MTQI’s official website. As ‘Miss Internet’, she became the first of 20 semi-finalists in this year’s pageant.
Miss French Polynesia came in 2nd place, followed by Miss New Zealand in 3rd.
